Blessing for the New Year

Blessed be the undescended testicle, the lumpy ungainly breast,
the bunion, the distended uterus,
bless false teeth, dry pussy, limp cocks,
bless the prison of the unloved body and
the magic leap of faith that opens the locks.
Bless the vast colonies of forlorn desire and
all the pilgrims who died there,
Bless everyone blinded by beauty and everyone
who farted in the middle of the school prayer.
Bless cunt hair, penis pie, and the self-righteous freaks
who think they understand the universe because they get high.
Bless the suspenders of judgment, the extenders of clemency,
the Maidenform 42 DD, the hermaphrodite Gods of Androgyny
and spitting in the face of hypocrisy,
Bless the bastard in bastardy, the hysteric in hysterectomy,
the leper in leprosy
and the transcendence in LSD.
Bless all the toilets and shit buckets in the world.
Bless the pursuit of the perpetual orgasm when it is
not a get rich scheme,
bless K-Y jelly and Koromex cream.
Bless the invisible synapses of hope that connect us to
the experiential world, bless peep shows and shy little girls,
bless the old rooster who has nothing left but crow,
the young cock who doesn’t know he doesn’t know
and the crack in the glass that leads to worlds unknown.
Bless the egg rolling off the table particularly when I am that egg,
Bless the bottom of the glass and all the dregs,
bless bees-was, borax and the milky way,
Bless New Years Day.
